Chapter 1

 

Inside the stone work of Goron City, the gorons dance and joke unaware that an ancient evil brewing within death mountain is brewing.

"Hail darnu!" Greeted another goron with a customary slap on the shoulder.

"Hail brother!"

"Me and the others are going to Dodingo's Caven to restock on rocks. If we don't get food soon then the gorons will start eating away the walls! Care to join us?"

Darnu nodded and got his goron sword. Metal weapons were rare with gorons. They prefered might over ingenuity so they usually used rocks, sharpened sticks or bare hands aside from the giant goron that made metal weapons.

Within a few minutes, five gorons were inside the Dodingo's Cavern and wary of the creatures that might be waiting for them. At this time it was mostly lizalfos that occupied the cavern with the rare pots and fire breathing dodingo's to make things difficult. Three lizalfos attacked them right off. The goron Etoo picked the first one up by the neck and threw it into the lava pit. Darnu ran another through with his sword while the others stabbed the other with crude wooden spears. The gorons went deeper into the cavern and found a sturdy spot that wouldn't cave in when they chisled rocks from it. Darnu and Etoo guarded while the other 3 hammered at the rocks with their bare hands.

Suddenly the cavern began to shake. Boulders fell from the ceiling as the gorons fell through a hole when the ground beneath them gave way. To their horror they saw a dodingo as huge as goron city. In the huge cavern they were in the dodingo had plenty of room to swipe at them with its tail but the gorons could see no immidiate way out. The beast let out its fire breath and all 5 gorons lept out of the way. They all scrambled around the room trying to get their wits when one of the gorons was crushed under the beasts heavy claws. Immediately the gorons with spears threw them at the beast attempting to strike its eyes but none found their mark and did little or no damage. Finally Darnu ran around the beast swipeing with his sword. The beast attempted to knock him over with its tail but Darnu cut it as he lept out of the way causing the beast such pain that it burst through the cavern roof. The gorons climbed the rock way to bravely try to slay the huge dodingo as it crashed through wall after wall. It turned around to let out its fire breath again and all but one managed to dodge in time. Shutting out the gorons screams of pain, Darnu swiped the beasts tail again. This time it smashed through another wall but couldnt get all the way through. Its head was stuck. Not wanting to waste this precious opportunity, Darnu shoved his spear under the beasts front leg were he thought its heart should be. The beast shuddered a bit then died.

The gorons were amazed that Darnu could kill a dodingo so huge. Etoo quicky let his amazement be shown.

"THAT WAS INCREDIBLE, BROTHER!"

"Thanks Etoo"

"Never in my life have I seen someone get that many rocks loose in one day! Haha!"

For the rest of that day every goron in Goron City were transporting the rocks to the huge vase in the middle of the town.
