The Legendary Goron

By Bluk

Chapter 3

Darnu dug in his hiding spot for the cloth he used to wrap the hammer. Carefully he removed the cloth and was awed at how it shined. He dropped one of the broken ropes down the hole and slid down to the platform. He looked around fearfully and slowly crossed the bridge to where the emblem of the triforce was. Then the lava began to bubble.

The huge form of Volvega sprouted from the red river sending lava everywere. Darnu scrambled to avoid the splash and the dragons fire breath. He tried to run the way he came but the dragons tail destroyed the rope bridge. He leaped off onto one of the platforms and onto the other untill he was behind the huge stone. Volvega serched ferociously for the offending goron screeching and unleashing its fire breath everywhere.

Darnu cowered on his platform when out of the corner of his eye he spotted a red shine. He looked and on the platform buy him was a huge red gem with a gold rim. He looked for a while confused as to what it was doing here when on its reflection he saw Volvega comeing at him. He grabbed the gem and ran through the platforms under Volvega and into the dungeon. Volvega followed breathing fire at Darnu the whole way. Darnu found himself in a room with a huge platform in the middle and he desperatly lept onto it. Volvega followed and batted him with its tail. When he landed the Goron Hammer touched the gem and began to glow red. He took the hammer and swiped at Volvega a few times when a miss caused several holes to appear in the platform. When Volvega turned Darnu hang over the side so Volvega would thing he was in one of the holes. When he saw the dragons tail disappear he got back onto the platform and readied his hammer. When Volvega showed its head he drew the hammer back and with every ounce of streangth in him brought it down on the dragons head. The dragon was knocked clear into the hole and the might of the blow caused the cavern to shake. Darnu lept back to the door and was well on his way out of the dungeon when the falling boulders sealed Volvega for years to come.
