Chapter 2 - Zelda's Plan

Link arose suddenly. He felt strange. Weary. He, like Princess Zelda, also had a dream.

In his dream, Zelda was talking to him, Almost like she was trying to reach him telepathically. And in the dream, Zelda said:

"Link. Can you hear me? You must meet me in the Hyrule Castle. I must speak with you."

Link grabbed a cup. He walked outside, examining the beautiful night sky. He walked to the well and got a drink of water. He washed his mouth out a couple of times. Then he splashed some water against his face. He thought, What was that dream about? Am I going crazy?

A small figure aproached Link. She came up behind him and said:

"Link, what are you doing up at this hour?"

"Ahh. I dunno. I had a strange dream. It seamed real, yet to......dreamish like. What are you doing up, Siara?"

"When I saw you weren't in your bed, I came outside to see if you were here."

"Since I've been living here in Kakariko Village, things just haven't been the same. I dunno. Maybe I'm going crazy!"

"Naah. You've probly just come down with something. Well, see you tommorow, I'm going back to sleep."

"Goodnight, Siara"

"Goodnight, Link"

Siara had red, golden hair. Beautiful, soft hands. And if she didn't know any better, she thought Link might have eyes for her. She was a good friend of Link's and she reminded him of Saria in a strange way.

Link thought about Saria. He thought about the fairy ocarina she had given him twelve years ago, when he was but a child. How it had helped him in his quest. And how he found the Ocarina of Time in the Hyrule Castle moat.

Then he remembered Navi. Navi fairy had helped Link out much on his quest. Then Link felt sad. How she had left him after his adventure.

The adventure against Gannondorf. And the Master Sword. I wander what has become of the Master Sword, Link thought.

Link awoke the next morning. He put on his old Kokiri tunic (he kept it because of the memories), then walked to the recently built stable. There, Epona was waiting anctiously. Link took a handful of some seeds, and Epona ate them out of his hand.

Soon, Link mounted Epona and set off for Hyrule Castle. Link figured that it wouldn't hurt to check it out. After all, the dream was just too real to pass up the chance.

Siara looked frantically for Link. He was nowhere to be seen.

"Link, LIINNNKKK!?!?" she called.

Then Siara stumbled upon a note. She read it (or attempted to). Link's hand writting was horrible. The letter said"

" Deer Siara,

I went off to the Hyrule Casle to meeet prinses selda. I will bea bak as sone as posibul.

Link"

What could he be up to now? She thought. I think the sickness Link has come down with is making him delirious.

Meanwhile, Link was enjoying himself at the castle town. He figured, why not enjoy myself while I'm here. He feasted on the many different foods that were there. He had 500 rupees, so he had much to spend.

By noon, Link was down to 250 rupees. He was having so much fun, that he paid no attention to the amount of money his was spending.

Then Link remembered that he must go see Princess Zelda. Link rushed off out of the town. He came to the guard gate. The guard said:

"Just where do you think you're going?"

"I must see the Princess."

"Oh. You and a thousand others. Do you have a reason?!"

" Listen it's crazy. Can't you just send someone to see if the princess really needs me? It's important."

"Hmmm&ldots;. All right. Charlie,"the guard said,"A got someone here. Says he needs to see the princess. "the guard turned towards Link ."What's yer name kid?"

"Link." Link replied.

"His names Link. "Shouted the guard. "You just wait right here." He said to Link.

Charlie ran off towards the castle. Link stood and waited. And waited. And waited. After an hour, Charlie returned.

He whispered something to the gate guard. The guard turned his head and looked at Link in an odd way. Charlie whispered something else to the guard. Then the gate guard said:

"OK. You may enter. But don't you go around causing trouble."

Zelda was sitting in her room. She was reading a story named "The Legend of Zelda"

In it, a mysterious boy steps in to save a beautiful princess from an evil monster. He must collect magical items and defeat terrifying monsters.

Link walked into the room. Another Triforce peace, Link thought. He picked it up, and out of nowhere, Gannon appeared! Gannon shot out a powerful fireball and&ldots;..

Her concentration was interrupted as she heard a knocking sound at her door.

"Who's there?" She asked.

"It's me, Link, Hero of Time. I have come to wisp you away in my arms." Link joked.

"Come in." Zelda replied. She knew that Link was at her door. Link was a good joker and a very friendly guy. And besides, she hadn't seen Link in five years!

"You have become very beautiful." Link said, very gentlemen like. "Do you know why the guards stopped me at the gate?"

"I don't know. But I do know that something weird is going on. Will you help us?"

"Us?" asked Link

"I mean all of Hyrule."

"Oh. Sure."

"I need to show you something." Said Zelda "Follow me to the basement."

As they walked, Link took notice of all the eye candy the palace had to offer. Beautiful paintings, wonderfully sculpted statues and the plush red carpet. They came to the end of the hall, where there was a locked door. Zelda took out a key from a small pouch she was carrying. She unlocked the door, and Zelda and Link continued.

They began walking down a circular staircase. Torches where lit along the way, and the only bit of darkness was the kind that waited ahead and disappeared as soon as you where there. Zelda opened another door.

The basement was filled with all sorts of objects. Broken swords, hammers, bows and arrows and shields and all kinds of things.

Then Link took notice of a row of musical instruments. He noticed something familiar. It was a shiny blue object, one that resembled a potato. Could it be? Yes! It was the Ocarina of Time!

He looked at all the other Royal Family instruments. The Violin of Time, the Banjo of Time, the familiar Harp of Time (the one Shiek played), the Trumpet of Time, the Tuba of Time, and some kind of strange instrument.

The instruments were all in cases. Zelda opened the one containing the strange instrument. It was silver and it had the Royal Family crest on it. It was about three inches long. On one side, it had square holes placed about 1 mm apart, and the other end was open. Zelda turned and showed Link this mysterious instrument.
